There has been many changes to the Knicks since last season. The most important one being signing the of former player and champion, Derek Fisher as the new head coach. That means the knicks will run the triangle offense this upcoming season which many believe to be a far more effective system than the isolation-based system the Knicks ran under Woodson. There has also been some changes personnel wise on the Knicks roster, they traded Raymond Felton and Tyson Chandler to the Dallas Mavericks for Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Shane Larkin and a couple of second round picks. With those draft picks they drafted the senior Cleanthony Early out of Wichita State, and Giannis Antetokounmpo's older brother Thanasis.
However, the biggest move of the summer was re-signing Carmelo Anthony to a 5 years deal, this means that Carmelo commits to New York, The Knicks, and coach Fisher's system.
If the Knicks are able to stay healthy, they will definitely be able to compete in the playoffs, and might even make some trouble once they are there.
